With precise micro-marking capabilities and minimal abrasive impact, Ilios’ second harmonic generation (SHG) diode pumped green laser systems are widely sought after across many industries and applications.

A much smaller spot size enables the system to create minute text and character markings on various types of materials. This capability is especially crucial for industries manufacturing small and delicate parts. The system also produce less mechanical heat stress on a specimen, thus enabling quality ablation and marking performance while minimising the amount of distortion on materials such as silicon wafers, plastics and IC packages.

SHG, also known as frequency doubling, involves the combination of photons to produce twice the energy, frequency and thus half the wavelength of the original photons. The end result is an output of visible light with a 532nm wavelength.
