Other Applications
Keeping up with technological advancements in materials, manufacturing methods and processes, Ilios’ team of application engineers are constantly developing and building on our laser applications to meet changing demands.
These include:
Laser Ablation
This application involves the removal of material from a solid surface through irradiation with a laser beam. As laser pulses can be controlled precisely, this application is ideal for many research and industrial applications.
Laser Cutting
Besides cutting precisely on various materials and shapes, this technique is capable of executing different applications and thus maximises the value of your investment. Intricately detailed and fine designs are easily achievable as cuts are made to the width of the laser beam. Laser cutting also produces a smooth finishing on cut edges, eliminating further steps and expenses to polish the edges. With no mechanical force and reduced contamination, damage of materials are greatly minimised.
Laser Deflashing
This application is designed to replace conventional methods of removing unwanted by-products or flashes from molding processes – in a faster, more accurate and cost reducing way. Its contact-less execution minimises distortion and material waste, boosting higher throughput with greater efficiency.
Laser Soldering
Unlike most forms of soldering, laser soldering applies heat only at a specific joint so there is less thermal stress on the surrounding area of the material. Popular applications include assembling electronic components to printed circuit boards, metal equipment patching and mechanical parts assembly. Users enjoy greater control of parameters, producing more accurate results, better performance and unparalleled convenience.
Laser Welding
Providing fast and precise execution with minimal distortion and waste, Ilios’ laser welding application allows for deep weld penetration and good metallurgical structures – ensuring that the end-products are of the highest standards. Without the need for vacuum chambers and other processing equipment, laser welding can be easily integrated into existing systems as a cost effective and high volume producing automated solution.
